I'm still in the middle of Lord of the Rings, but also in the middle of The Collected Works of Chesterton Vol. XV Chesterton on Dickens. Also reading the 2006 Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market.
Mike is reading travel books on Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont (we're going in two weeks).
13 year old daughter: How to start your own Band, Escape Your Shape, and a geneology book my Great Aunt wrote.
10 year old daughter: I think has read every Nancy Drew she could find in the library this week (probably in reality, only 10 or 12) Asterix and the Banquet (a graphic novel) The WellWishers (Edward Eager) The Ghosts of Cougar Island (Peggy Parrish)

We seem to be on a nature-oriented reading trend:
Treasury of Beatrix Potter (during lunch)
Charlotte's Web (during quiet time)
various shark books for our science work this week
We're almost done with Charlotte's Web so we'll probably do Stuart Little (we read Trumpet of the Swan last year).
When Beatrix Potter stories are done we'll read various biographies about her and do an "art study/nature journal" lesson with her work.
I'm reading Hand of Providence by Mary Beth Brown.
Let's see, the 16 pound pile of books from the library contains Artisan Bread Baking, three sewing costume books, two fashion history books for costume reference, two books on embroidery, most of the books that start with C (we're doing Letter of the Week and we are on C this week), A few mammal books, as well as garden books, and on my nightstand is Surrender to Love, and I started in on the Chronicles of Narnia, to get ready for the movie, and the Art of Natural Family Planning, just to review. I think that's most of them. Plus all the sewing I'm learning how to do, and about 16 more pounds worth of books on hold waiting for me at the library. I'll pick those up tonight :)
