Calendar of Resources - December 8th

From the love2learn.net Calendar of Resources (a work always in progress - but I've added a lot to the December page this year)

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Holy Day of Obligation

The Immaculate Conception is a title we give to Mary meaning that she was conceived without original sin as a special gift from God to prepare her to be the Mother of his Son.

recommended reading:
Mary, the Mother of Jesus by Tomie de Paola

This is also a good time to read or watch the story of Our Lady's apparitions in Lourdes, France, to Bernadette Soubirous:
Bernadette and the Lady by Hertha Pauli (Vision Series)
Bernadette: Princess of Lourdes (CCC Video)
Song of Bernadette (1940 movie starring Jennifer Jones and Vincent Price - winner of the Academy Award for best picture of the year)
