I'll look forward to reading the posts. I grew up in the City and read tons of great mysteries and books ont he Earthquake -- it always seemed like such a "romantic" event.
My grandpa was able to "lie" about his age for years becuase his birth certificate burned in the fire after the quake.
Thanks for reminding me about this -- maybe I'll put together a unit for the kids....
Neat! Both my grandmother were around there at the time. My Dad's Mom was 3 years old living in the Bayview/Hunter's Point area. My other grandma was born two months later just south of the city.
